Earthquake death toll in Afghanistan rises to more than 2,000 – World Chronicle

Kabul/Herat – After several strong earthquakes in Afghanistan on Saturday morning, the death toll has risen to more than 2,000, according to the latest authorities. The number of people who died is 2,053, the Taliban government’s disaster management ministry said on Sunday. 9,240 people were injured and 1,329 houses were destroyed. The tremors occurred in the morning northwest of the Afghan border town of Herat, at a shallow depth of around ten kilometers.
