13th Tiradentes Photography Festival launches Dialogues of the Earth call
Opportunity for photographers from all over the country: The 13th Tiradentes Photography Festival – Foto em Pauta launches a call for photography artists to reflect on the theme: Earth Dialogues. Registration is free and must be submitted using the form available on the website. Festivalbetween February 9th and 18th, 2024.
The call for submissions accepts a maximum of five images, which may or may not be from the same series. Individual or collective works can be presented. Photos taken with film, digital cameras or smartphones are valid.
Registration for the Dialogues of the Earth themed festival is free and must be made by February 18th via the event website
The call seeks to bring together photography works from the most diverse aspects (documentary, personal and poetic images) to be exhibited in a projection at Largo das Forras, in Tiradentes/MG, on the nights of March 8th and 9th, 2024.
The curatorial team, formed by Gláucia Nogueira and Mônica Maia, will be responsible for selecting the images. The result will be announced on February 25th. Questions can be sent to email: [email protected].
Earth Dialogues
The 21st century has brought us a profusion of studies related to climate change and new views on the concept of Earth. No longer as something inert, separate from humanity, as a simplistic backdrop to the human stage. This current moment makes it clear that the Earth is a dense set of relationships, articulating what the disciplines used to treat separately.
Living beings, oceans, rivers, atmosphere, climate, rocks and ice work in close connection – making and remaking themselves, in constant mutation and exchange. The open call intends to receive works that deal with the Earth in the broadest possible sense. Landscapes; animals; winds; plants; microorganisms; living beings, non-living humans, non-humans, that is, the most diverse multiplicities and their agents. These, which form complex tangles and connections that guarantee the diversity and possibility of life.
13th Tiradentes Photography Festival
The Tiradentes Photography Festival – Foto em Pauta reaches its thirteenth edition between March 6th and 10th, 2024, in the historic city of Minas Gerais. The intense, diverse and free program will feature exhibitions, debates, lectures, photo screenings, book launches and educational activities.
