Saturday April 22 is World Earth Day! Many actions, ranging from waste collection to carpooling are planned to save our planet. But where does its name, Earth, come from? Linda Giguère tells us more in her column.

To begin, Mohamed, I would like to show you some pictures. Look.
/// P 1: Earth (3 pictures)
Earth / view from space! You discover the first photos of our planet taken by Juice, the European probe, which is on its way to Jupiter.
///
(To Momo) Isn’t our Earth beautiful? …
///
If I show you these photos, it’s because in two days, Saturday, we will celebrate Earth Day. It’s a world day.
P 2: Earth Day
So we’re all going to put on our gloves, pick up our waste thrown on the ground and which pollutes our streets, our forests, our beaches; we’re going to plant potatoes / and carpool. In short, we will rise up! We will move heaven and earth for our planet.
///
4.5 billion years. Is not all young, the earth. /// Its name comes from the Latin terra. A prolific word.
