Dr. Ibrahim Saeed, Jumaa, specialist in internal medicine and malnutrition, revealed early symptoms in people developing type 2 diabetes.

He said in a special statement to “Masrawy” that diabetes is a chronic disease prevalent throughout the world and there are symptoms that should be observed if they repeat throughout the day in an abnormal manner which indicates type 2 diabetes.

He pointed out that these signs are:

– Intense and unusually increased thirst several times during the day.
– Increased urination, because when blood sugar levels rise, the kidneys cannot filter excess glucose.
– Feeling extremely tired and exhausted because the body cannot effectively use glucose to get the activity needed to perform daily activities.
Poor blood circulation leads to slow wound healing.
Type 2 diabetes causes blurred vision and blood vessel damage.
– Tingling sensation in the feet.
– Pain in the feet and hands.
– The appearance of brown spots on the skin.
It is important to notice each of these symptoms indicating type 2 diabetes because timely and early detection helps prevent late complications of diabetes.
He provided several tips for preventing type 2 diabetes, including the following:
Maintain a healthy body.
Regular exercise.
Reduce your consumption of sugars and carbohydrates.
Avoid smoking.
Control blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
