DENVER, Colorado – The mountains of Colorado received the first snowfall of the season on the morning of Monday, September 11.

Snow fell in several areas of the Rocky Mountains early Monday, including Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, Loveland Pass and Rocky Mountain National Park.

The average date for the first snowfall in Denver is October 18. However, in 2021, Denver experienced its first snowfall much later, on December 10. In contrast, in 2022, Denver recorded its first snowfall earlier, on October 24.

The month of September in Colorado is characterized by being quite variable in terms of weather conditions, a transition month where we go from summer to autumn, but we also go from heat to cold and from rain to snow with extreme ease.
