A fire broke out at the “Single Room” Hotel in Banqiao District, New Taipei City at 3 a.m. Firefighters evacuated a total of 39 people on the 6th floor, and 2 men were sent to the hospital in a coma. The Fire Department of the New Taipei City Government stated that the fire occurred in the mattress of Room 520 on the 4th floor, and the cause of the fire is yet to be investigated.
The New Taipei City Fire Department received a report early this morning that black smoke billowed from the “single room” hotel near Mingde Street in Banqiao District at regarding 3:30 in the morning. After the firefighters evacuated the tenants, they rescued 3 people from the fire, including 2 A man was in a coma and was rushed to Banqiao Yadong Hospital; the other 23-year-old woman was conscious and sent to Taipei Hospital for preventive measures. The fire was completely extinguished at 4:16.
The fire department said that the 6-story “single room” hostel just passed the fire inspection on the 5th. The fire alarm broadcasting equipment and indoor fire hydrants in the building can be used normally. The service staff also memorized the previous fire drill. Assist the evacuation of the tenants at the first time, greatly reducing the disaster situation, and provide the building plan and the passenger accommodation list to the firefighters to help count and confirm the escape of all the tenants.
After receiving the notification, New Taipei Mayor Hou Youyi also went to the scene to understand the fire situation and asked Banqiao District Office to assist in relocating the tenants.
