EAO Expands Series 09 Universal Switches with LIN-Bus Interface for Enhanced Automotive Efficiency

EAO has significantly expanded its portfolio of universal switches designed for a variety of interior applications across automotive sectors, including passenger cars, electric vehicles, buses, trucks, and specialized vehicles, thereby enhancing its position in the market.

The renowned Series 09, characterized by its innovative design and functionality, now features new variants that integrate the Local Interconnect Network (LIN)-Bus interface. This LIN-Bus technology facilitates reliable and robust communication between automotive control units, streamlining and accelerating the integration of interior Human-Machine Interface (HMI) units and sub-assemblies in modern vehicles, ultimately leading to optimized efficiency and superior performance.

The newly enhanced Series 09 universal switches can connect seamlessly within a network comprising up to 16 participants through the built-in LIN-Bus controller. They are not only capable of integrating into existing communication systems alongside various control devices, but they can also be paired with other universal switches to establish a distinct network, thereby increasing versatility in vehicle design.

Crafted with a focus on modularity and ergonomic design, the latest Series 09 switches uphold the stringent standards of IATF16949 automotive quality. These switches are offered in a diverse range of variants and application-specific configurations to meet the varied needs of the automotive industry.

EAO provides devices featuring ISO 7000 compliant illuminated graphical symbols as standard; however, switches can also be customized according to specific customer requirements. All Series 09 switches boast an IP5K4 rating for protection against contamination, ensuring durability and enhanced performance, while their excellent haptics and tactile feedback are achieved through an appealing, resilient surface coating.

“LIN-Bus connectivity considerably reduces the wiring effort, which significantly reduces costs. Thanks to a daisy-chained LIN signal, the new switches with LIN interface are also notable for their low power consumption, a particularly relevant advantage in vehicles with a limited power supply,” explained Robert Davies, the marketing manager at EAO.

**Interview with John Smith, ⁢Director of Product Development at EAO**
