EA Play 2022: This Year’s Electronic Arts E3 Event Officially Canceled

Well, you don’t come out of the chaos of one world when you enter another. Two years ago, the coronavirus shook the planet from all sides, and today, the war between Russia and Ukraine is also having repercussions around the world. This situation affects the video game industry, but not as much as the pandemic at the time, because… in 2020, all events were digitized and even E3 2020 was canceled. Now EA Play 2022 has also been cancelled.

But what is the reason? Well, at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with war and nothing to do with the pandemic we’re still living in, but the fact is that EA Play 2022, where many expected (including me) than games like Star Wars Jedi : Fallen Order 2 or the new Need for Speed, has been dropped from plans for this summer, and therefore plans for E3 2022.

Why was EA Play 2022 cancelled?

Who collected the information regarding this cancellation is. IGN (via level on Twitter). Here are the details below:

  • In fact, it was not confirmed that EA Play 2022 was going to take place this year, it was just a no-brainer ✅.
  • It’s only now that it has been confirmed that there will be no edition this year
  • The reason is that they are not yet ready to teach anything, or at least not enough to make an event ❌.
  • “We have some exciting things happening in our world-class studios and we’ll be revealing a lot more regarding these projects this year when the time is right for each of them,” they assured IGN in the statement ✌????.

What do you think of this decision? To tell you the truth, it’s a little disappointing but… the decision is completely understandable. That way we’ll see deadline announcements when they’re really due and not when the games are still very green.
