At the beginning of July, Electronic Arts announced that for Season 22 of its battle royale Apex Legends it would undergo an extensive restructuring, abandoning the option of purchasing it with in-game currency.
However, this was not to the liking of the community of the game developed by Respawn Entertainment and they have had to publish apologies and retract the changes and the possibility of obtaining the premium battle pass with Apex Coins will no longer be eliminated.
“They spoke and we listened to them,” said EA“With the launch of Season 22, we will be restoring the ability to obtain the Premium Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins. We acknowledge that we could have handled the changes to the Battle Pass better, and that is our fault.”
“You will be able to earn enough Apex Coins through the Battle Pass to earn future passes,” he added.
Apex Legends will still make changes to its battle pass
The Apex Legends Battle Pass will go from having 110 tiers to two Battle Passes, one for each division, both of which will include 60 tiers.
With the launch of Season 22, the first Premium Battle Pass will be unlockable by completing a series of “simple in-game challenges.” Beginning with Split 2 on September 17, Premium Battle Passes will be available for 950 Apex Coins.
“Looking ahead, we recognize that we need to be more timely, transparent and consistent in our communications with you,” EA’s statement added.
“Their priorities are our priorities: cheaters, game stability, and quality of life updates are our priorities. We need to improve and that’s why we recognize them here.
“As a next step, there will be a number of game stability improvements and bug fixes coming in Season 22, which will be detailed in the patch notes released on August 5.
“Thank you again for all your passion and time on Apex Legends, because we couldn’t do this without you.”
