14h30 : Roadway closed for repair time. And accident performed at Spy in the files of the accident below involving two heavy goods vehicles. At the start around 9.40 a.m., a truck hit a buffer truck near Sambreville on the E42 Namur-Mons; the lorry involved is on its side and its load is spread all over the road; the passage is therefore very difficult in the direction of Mons.
The situation is likely to last for repairs and road cleaning. Glass smeared across much of the highway.
Advice: leave the E42 either at Namur ouest or at Spy in the direction of Namur, head towards Floreffe via the N958 at the Suarlée roundregarding, then at Floreffe take the N90 to Jemeppe sur Sambre, finally the N98 towards Ligny to resume the E42 near Sambreville
3:30 p.m.: A second fatal accident happened in the queues just following exit 12 Gembloux. The roadway is also closed. Coming from Liège on this E42 it is now advisable to exit at the Daussoulx interchange. Diversion via the E411 then via exit 11 Thorembais/Gembloux and the N29 to find the motorway further on at exit 14 Sambreville/Ligny.
4 p.m.: Bouchon in formation for 8 km. Motorists who have not left Daussoulx find themselves in large queues. There is now an hour of travel time.
6 p.m.: Increasing slowdown. There is 10Km of disturbance since Marchovelette. Very dense traffic in the deviations especially on the N29 (via exit 11 of the E411) crossing Gembloux or the N912 (via exit 12 of the E411) passing through Bruyère.
6:20 p.m.: An end of closing is announced around 8:30 p.m.
