A serious road accident involving four cars occurred Saturday shortly following noon on the E40 motorway, near Sterrebeek, towards Brussels. A car collided with the tail end of a traffic jam. Several people were injured, one of whom is in critical condition.
The motorway was completely blocked for more than two hours, but was reopened to traffic shortly following 3 p.m., the Flemish traffic center said. Traffic jams persist on the E40 towards Brussels, but delays are now limited to a few minutes.
