This year, however, there’s an extra reason to get excited. In addition to the standard December bonus, a special bonus of €154.94 will be paid out.

But there’s a pinch of paparazzi-style detail: not everyone will receive this additional financial boost. Only about 400,000 pensioners who meet specific income criteria will be eligible.

Who Qualifies for the Extra €154.94?

This one-time bonus targets pensioners whose financial needs are most pressing. To qualify, individual pensions cannot exceed €7,781.93 per year- this includes an individual’s total income. The maximum annual income limits are:

* **Individual Pension Limit:** €7,781.93 per year.

To qualify:

* **Individual Income Limit:** €11,672.90 per year.
* **Marital Income Limit:** €23,345.79 per year.

In addition to meeting the income requirements, eligible candidates must receive one of the following types of pensions, as defined by Italian law:

* Pensions paid by compulsory General Insurance and its equivalent

forms, including substitutes, alternative options, and exemption structures.

* Pensions managed by the bodies specified in Legislative Decree

509/1994.

Important Note: Beneficiaries can’t be receiving pensions

paid under percentage-based accumulation scheme, which system is eyeballing only

as to when a pension

is received

in full. Individuals receiving pensions for disability

are not eligible.

Additionally, those receiving the following types of pensions are also ineligible:

* Supplementary pensions

* Tax-free pensions due to international tax treaties
* Pensions replaced by the State

* Pensions provided by local authorities
* Pensions with zero payments in December 2023
* Eliminated pensions.
