RIYADH – The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has asked electronic stores to register their e-stores through the Business Platform instead of the Maroof platform.
The ministry said the decision to register e-stores through a business platform affiliated with the Saudi Business Center (SBC) in conjunction with the E-Commerce Council resulted in the development of documentation procedures. In addition, a commercial bank account is also required for the store to strengthen the reliability of its financial transactions and avoid fraudulent ones.
The Ministry stated that the registration process is very simple and can be done online via https://business.sa/. Those wishing to register their stores must have a commercial register, or a valid freelance certificate, as well as a bank account, it said.
