More than two years following its release, the iPad 9 still remains a good tablet today, which also has the advantage of being the most affordable in Apple’s catalog. At the moment, we can also find it at 379 euros at E.Leclerc instead of 439 euros.

Those who cannot afford an iPad Air, but who still want to own an efficient Apple tablet can turn to the iPad 9, which preceded the more recent iPad 10. Released in 2021 , this reference still remains today a good entry point into the Apple ecosystem, with its more than satisfactory configuration. A tablet that’s even more worth it when it is on sale, like now.

Why the 2021 iPad 9 is still worth it

  • A 10.2-inch Retina display
  • Good performance with the A13 Bionic chip
  • Fairly generous autonomy

Generally offered at 439 euros, the 2021 iPad 9 is now displayed at 379 euros at E.Leclerc.

Apple iPad 9 (2021) at the best price?

A less premium design, but the Apple quality is there

If the recent iPad Air and iPad Pro have sophisticated designs, with very thin borders, the iPad 9 is clearly less refined with its thick borders and its Touch ID fingerprint sensor nestled in the Home button under the screen. A sensor which is now more discreet on the brand’s younger references: on the iPad Air M1, it is found for example on the device’s power button, on the upper edge. However, as with all Apple products, the finishes remain ultra-careful.

The iPad 9 fortunately goes back up the slope thanks to its 10.2-inch Retina screen (LCD), True Tone compatible. The panel is therefore capable of adapting to the ambient brightness and modulating the color temperature. Let’s also add that the iPad 9 can be used with the Apple Pencil, which should please creative people who don’t have the budget for an iPad Pro.

Sufficient power and good autonomy

Regarding its performance, the iPad 9 is equipped with an A13 Bionic chip. We are obviously far from the power delivered by the M1 and M2 chips, which the recent iPads carry, but that does not prevent the iPad 9 from effectively running classic tasks in a sufficiently fluid manner. The iPadOS interface is still as responsive as ever. Let’s also remember that the iPad can act as a mini console and allow us to enjoy Apple Arcade with a controller connected via Bluetooth. As for the photo part, the iPad 9 integrates a 12 megapixel camera on the front, compared to 8 megapixels in the previous generation.

Finally, in terms of autonomy, the iPad 9 is reassuring since it can work for several days before having to go through the recharge box, if the use is not very intensive at least. For recharging, which is done with the now obsolete Lightning to USB-C cable, be patient, because it will be (very) long: during our test, it took us 2h45 to reach 100%. battery.
