“Dynamics of Development in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab: American Jewish Committee Delegation Reviews Investment Opportunities and Growth Projects”

The members of a delegation of the American Jewish Committee (American Jewish Committee), learned, Thursday in Dakhla, of the dynamics of development in the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and the projects launched in all areas.

On this occasion, the members of this delegation, chaired by the head of the political affairs department of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Jason F. Isaacson, had a meeting with the president of the Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, at the during which they reviewed the investment opportunities and the various development projects carried out or those in progress in the region and learned regarding the role of this elected body in the management of local affairs.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Isaacson stressed that this meeting was an opportunity to learn regarding the development process in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, adding that emphasis was placed on territorial integrity. of the Kingdom, “which has always been supported and defended by the American Jewish Committee”, which is considered among the partners of the Kingdom of Morocco.

He also said that the level of development noted by the members of the American Jewish Committee upon their arrival in Dakhla strongly reflects the wisdom of HM King Mohammed VI, who is working to consolidate the foundations of development in the region, particularly in the industrial sector.

After hailing the “remarkable” development at the regional level in various fields, Mr. Isaacson stressed “the importance of the partnership, which might lead to the emergence of new relations between Morocco and Israel, in favor of the development of this region”.

For his part, Mr. Yanja said that this meeting was an opportunity to discuss the development experienced by the region in different fields and the new model of development of the southern provinces launched by HM King Mohammed VI in 2015.

The discussions also focused on the important productive sectors of the region’s economy, such as tourism, agriculture, maritime fishing, renewable energy and infrastructure, he continued, highlighting the vision of HM the King aiming to hoist the region into a real attractive economic center open to investors from all over the world.

The President of the Regional Council also indicated that the delegation of the American Jewish Committee expressed its admiration for the achievements made in the region, noting that there are great prospects for American investors seeking economic opportunities in the region.

Thus, the delegation went to an industrial unit for the manufacture and development of small pelagics which is part of the socio-economic development projects carried out in the region, thus contributing to its growth.

She also visited the “Dar Assania” craft center which contributes to the empowerment of women in the region socially and economically.

Earlier in the day, the American Jewish Committee delegation held a meeting with the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar, during which the accent was was placed on the development boom experienced by the region in various fields under the new development model of the southern provinces.

It should be recalled that the delegation had held a series of meetings during this week, in particular with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami and the President of the House of Councillors, Enaam Mayara.
