Techland today announced its major update for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, released in February 2022.
With several innovations in the Parkour system, in the day and night cycle and in the map, players will have access to a completely new experience. In addition, the game will be full of events.
The Good Night, Good Luck update arrives to bring considerable changes to the gameplay of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, with improvements to the parkour system and an overhaul to the night experience.
In the dead of night
The day and night cycle has always been at the heart of the Dying Light franchise. This update emphasizes differences in gameplay by ensuring that the night has a heavier, almost pure horror feel. To achieve this, visibility has been significantly reduced, making players more reliant on the upgraded flashlight which casts dynamic shadows. The sound design also enhances the atmosphere, with the music taking a backseat to the sound effects. The infected also spawn in more places, such as the Volatiles screaming from rooftops, making nowhere really safe following sundown.
have a good run
Sometimes the only way to survive is to run. Not only are the chase sequences more immersive, but there are also improvements made to parkour. Other additions include animations, greater control in the air, and maintaining momentum.
Parkour is the highlight of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, and some experienced players would like to be more challenged. Techland responded to this feedback by introducing the new style of parkour, made especially to meet these requests. Players can now select from the settings menu if they prefer to have more control over their movements for a more grounded and intense journey, or if they would like to stick with assisted gameplay.
Adventures across the map
The third pillar of the update is Community Maps. Techland is cooperating with mod.io and giving players the rare opportunity to access mod-created maps right in the game, without having to download any additional apps or editors. This means that many new levels and content will be available to play, showcasing the creativity of Dying Light fans.
This feature is currently only supported on PC, but will be coming to consoles and Steam Deck later this year.
Head towards “Harran Sunset”
Other additions worth mentioning are the graphical improvements in PC’s ultra mode, as well as a new color palette option called “Harran Sunset”. Now players can also throw their weapons and collect them later. The developers have also included some user interface tweaks and added an even wider variety of transmogs.
Days of the Living Dead in Summer
Goodnight, Good Luck brings you the Summer of Horrors, a series of events, crossovers, and updates that will span the entire season through September. To celebrate this launch, Techland calls on Night Watchers to test their skills once morest the Volatiles in the Bloody Nights event, which starts on June 29th at 11:00 am and runs until July 13th at 11:00 am ET. The rewards for completing these challenges are: 3 Huntress Regular and 3 Elite Mission Tickets, plus the Crossbow and Bolts blueprint, along with The Pricks outfit. Additionally, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will be 50% off for the duration of the event.
Dying Light Summer of Horrors 2 will also feature a collaboration with The Walking Dead franchise, which has certainly got fans excited.
