Game News Dying Light 2: a game made to last? Techland details its ambitions for future content!
Less than three weeks before its release, the developers of Techland have closed the communication campaign around the subject through a final broadcast which evoked many elements of the game. On the sidelines of the event, the teams lifted the veil on the game content upon release. But what regarding next? The response was not long in coming.
Within a few days, Dying Light 2 revealed like never before! Among the multitude of information regarding him, we had the right to gameplay footage with baby onions and various presentations emphasizing the capacities of our new hero, Aiden Caldwell. However, at the heart of all this mass of information, one of them particularly caught the attention of players who widened their eyes at such promises: the game would take hundreds of hours to finish from start to finish!
Following this, Techland quickly took the floor to clarify that in reality lifetime wasn’t as important to get to the end of the adventure and the plot! Moreover, the latter was illustrated in one last trailer which allowed us to learn more regarding the quest in which our hero embarks : a story both dark and poignant, all accompanied by a good dose of gameplay!
Content of all kinds until… 2027?!
We got it right: Dying Light 2 looks even richer than its elder! Whether you travel the whole world or the city’s environments, alone or with up to four players, there will be plenty to do. However, Techland teams have no intention of reducing their efforts once the game is officially on the shelves. On the contrary, the developers aim to provide a host of content for several years!
As they revealed on the game’s official Twitter page, Techland and all the teams have planned to supply Dying Light 2 through a whole bunch of content for at least the next five years, which would technically take us all the way to 2027 if the developers follow through on their wild ambitions.
For the moment, we don’t know exactly how the different content will be distributed, but according to them we can expect to see a lot of free content and major paid extensions. Techland has announced that, among these contents, we will find new stories, new areas as well as equally mysterious events within the game. : enough to increase the life of the game even more tenfold and increase the number of players who will be tempted by the adventure for many years to come!
As a reminder, Dying Light 2 : Stay Human is expected on February 4 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and Switch (only in Cloud version). While waiting for our test, you can already consult our impressions via our preview.
