The Astronomical Research Institute stated that 3 earthquakes of varying strength were detected, the last of which was of 4.9 and 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale north of Suez, and was preceded by another quake of a weak degree.

A few weeks following a terrifying tweet by the controversial Dutch scientist, Frank Hogerbits, regarding the region’s exposure to a series of new earthquakes, starting from last March 22, Egypt was hit by a strong earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter, yesterday, Wednesday.
And the Institute of Astronomical Research in Egypt announced that the country was exposed to a strong earthquake at exactly ten o’clock in the evening Cairo time, with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale, and its epicenter was in Greece, 600 km from the city of Salloum in Marsa Matrouh Governorate, north of Cairo, and it was felt by the residents of most of the governorates.
The institute revealed that the earthquake occurred at longitude 26.4 east and latitude 36.2 west, with a depth of 108.6 km, denying any loss of life or property.
The earthquake comes a few weeks following a tweet by a body affiliated with the Dutch scientist, Frank Hogrebits, predicted the occurrence of several new earthquakes, starting from last March 22 and following that.
The Euro-Mediterranean Center for Seismology said that Egypt was hit by an earthquake at a depth of one kilometer, at two o’clock in the morning on Thursday, March 23, while the National Seismological Network of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at kilometer 17 northeast of Aswan, at a depth of 0.3 kilometres.
And the Planetary Engineering Authority of the Dutch world expected some seismic activities during the days following March 22, indicating the possibility of earthquakes in the range of 5 or 6 degrees on the Richter scale. At the time, she said, lunar geometry may cause some stronger seismic activity in the coming days, possibly with a magnitude of 5 to 6.
Hogrbit’s warnings caused panic, especially following he predicted several times that earthquakes or tremors would occur before they actually occurred over the past few weeks, most notably the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6.
It is noteworthy that Egypt had been subjected last February to 3 consecutive earthquakes, which were felt by residents of some governorates in Cairo, Qalyubia, Suez, Port Said and Ismailia.
