The palace, located about 90 kilometers east of Amsterdam, is state property and is currently rented by the king. However, the king and his family live in The Hague. The family mainly uses the 15th-century hunting lodge for family reunions. So far, a good 12,500 refugees from Ukraine have been accommodated in the Netherlands. In addition, an unknown number of people from the war zone have found shelter with family members or friends.
