The Dutch cyclist covered the 182-kilometre stage, the longest stage of the UAE Tour, in a time of 4:08:38 hours, beating second-place finisher Tim Merler by fractions of a second, and Australian Sam Welsford, a Bora Hansgrohe team rider, who finished the stage in third place.
The stage champion and T-shirt winners were crowned by Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mualla, in the presence of Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and His Excellency Haitham Sultan Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Tourism.
