People should take necessary precautionary measures considering the possibility of dust storm. Another dust storm formed in Iraq was felt in various parts of Saudi Arabia. The winds, which blew through the capital, Riyadh, and the eastern province, also affected visibility.
Hospitals have been warned to deal with emergencies. People with respiratory ailments, including asthma, are advised to beware of dust mites and to wear a mask.
In Riyadh alone, 1,285 people were reported to have been hospitalized with respiratory illnesses due to Tuesday’s dust storm. Apart from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait and the UAE are also likely to be affected.
