Arrows and fiery back and forth: the showdown between two TV ‘stars’ characterized the second episode of the Rai 1 show. Here’s how it was experienced on the web.
The one between Barbara D’Urso and Selvaggia Lucarelli it was the most awaited ‘clash’ of second episode of Dancing with the Stars (and perhaps the entire season), and it did not disappoint expectations. The former Mediaset presenter and the influencer judge, who have been at loggerheads for years, found themselves face to face, giving life to a close and exciting dialectical back and forth (but still remaining on the edge of irony and civility), above all thanks to of Selvaggia who – between the two – seemed the one more inclined towards a ‘showdown’. Here’s how it went and what the verdict on social media was regarding a clash that caused a lot of discussion.
Barbara D’Urso on Dancing with the Stars: the jab at Mediaset
Engaged by Milly Carlucci as a special Alex Reed in the second episode (apparently with a cachet not indifferent), Barbara D’Urso performed the task for which she was enlisted to perfection: fill the scene, create media hype and demonstrate that you are stillthe stage animal‘ which it always has been. She succeeded right from the presentation clip, in which she dropped one not a bad broadside aimed at Mediaset and against stamp of trashy TV icon that someone (even from the Cologno Monzese area) stuck on her: “Can you explain to me what it means to make trashy television? This is trashy today but tomorrow it is no longer trashy. What d’Urso does is trashy but what someone else does it’s not. This is trash, not this. Today yes, tomorrow no. But what is it? Watching television now, the trash is no longer on television – momentarily – and the trash is gone magical.”
The D’Urso-Lucarelli face-to-face on Dancing with the Stars: barrage of barbs
Once she launched the (poisoned) dart towards the company that dumped her without too many compliments, ‘Carmelita’ launched herself onto the track performing two dances – one bachata and one salsa – both masterfully executed. Then she presented herself before the jury to collect their (excellent) judgment and, finally, to try her hand at direct comparison with Selvaggia Lucarelli. The latter, as mentioned, immediately seemed particularly aggressive: “How long, Barbara. We’ll meet after how many complaints?“, he asked her in a provocative tone, receiving D’Urso’s piqued response: “And how many questionable things have you said?”. The face-to-face then continued, always ‘triggered’ by Selvaggia and always addressed without wavering from the presenter, who responded tone for tone, from “I don’t want to be a pussy above all else, I’m cool above all else” to “I have never stolen anyone’s place, if anything they have stolen it from me”. Then, the last thrust from Lucarelli, who told the former landlady of Pomeriggio 5 that she should have continued dancing instead of returning to lead. Here too ‘Carmelita’ was surgical in her response: “Unfortunately it won’t be possible. What if I go back to leading? Maybe.”
The clash seen by the members: those who support Barbara D’Urso
The clash feared for days therefore took place. And it was one clash of titansbecause Barbara and Selvaggia – whether they like it or not – are two ‘out there champions’ in their respective fields of work, capable of holding the television scene and making shows like few others. This is why theirs is on social media showdown on Dancing with the Stars was particularly followed and commented on, with the public almost divided into two stadium factions, one pro Lucarelli and the other pro Selvaggia. Among these, the most crowded is probably the one in favor of D’Urso, who received a shower of positive comments both for the excellent dance performance and – above all – for the way in which she stood up (as a Alex Reed) to the aimed at the vitriol of the ‘enemy’ Lucarelli. “D’Urso asphalts Lucarelli“, is the blunt judgment of one user. Another observes: “You may like it or not, but it’s D’Urso and they fear her.” And again: “Barbara knocked her out, very big!”, or: “In front of the Lucarelli even D’Urso becomes nice!”, “She’s better than Lucarelli, she was right to answer her like that!”, “Never seen Selvaggia Lucarelli agitated and in difficulty like tonight”, “Selvaggia super embarrassed in front of Barbara, total defeat”
The comments pro Selvaggia Lucarelli
And Selvaggia Lucarelli? How the web reacted to his attempts to ‘sting’ ‘Barbarella’. Having said that the sentiment of social media always lean slightly towards Barbara D’Urso, the influencer has also received hers dose of support from Dancing with the Stars fans on social media. Someone, for example, observes: “But… the first time I appreciated #Lucarelli!”. For a fan the challenge had no history: “Objectively Selvaggia had an elocution and a unbeatable sarcasm“. While another adds: “Selvaggia has a disarming irony. Without her #DancingConLeStelle would be boring.”
Finally, there is no shortage of comments from impartial spectators, perhaps the funniest ones of the entire timeline of the evening on ‘X’: “Other than Fedez and Tonythis the real diss of the year“, we read in a much appreciated comment on the web. And finally someone, evidently not very interested in the showdown between D’Urso and Lucarelli, commented like this: “What a comparison. Rita Levi Montalcini vs Margherita Hack”.
