During the Spring Festival holiday (New Year’s Eve to the sixth day of the first lunar month), most of the northern part of China is dominated by sunny to cloudy weather, with temperatures close to normal;

Among them, there will be two rain and snow processes during the Southern Spring Festival. The first process is from New Year’s Eve to the second day of the new year. There are light to moderate snow or sleet in Hubei, southern Jiangsu and Anhui, Chongqing, Guizhou, northwestern and northeastern Yunnan, Hunan, northern Jiangxi, and northern Zhejiang. Among them, eastern Hubei, There were heavy snows and local blizzards in parts of southern Jiangsu and Anhui, northwestern Hunan and other places, light to moderate rains in central and southern Jiangnan and southern China, and heavy rains in some areas. The second process is from the fifth to the sixth day of the first lunar month. The dividing line between rain and snow is located between the central part of Guizhou and the northern part of Jiangnan.

In terms of temperature, during the Spring Festival, the temperature in most parts of the south was 2-4°C lower, and the temperature in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Guangdong, Guangxi and northeastern Yunnan was lower, and the temperature might reach 5-6°C.

It is expected that during the Spring Festival holiday, China’s atmospheric diffusion conditions will be generally good, but there will be periods of light to moderate haze and local severe haze in southern Shanxi, southern Hebei, Henan, and western Shandong on the first, second, and fifth days of the new year. On the mornings of New Year’s Eve, the fourth and fifth days of the new year, there will be heavy fog in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, central and southern Anhui, southern Jiangsu, and southern Sichuan Basin, with local visibility less than 200 meters.

In addition, during the holidays, the forest fire danger meteorological level is high in northern Beijing, northern and western Hebei, eastern Shanxi and other places, and it is necessary to pay attention to the safety of fire in forest areas.

Xue Jianjun, deputy director of the National Meteorological Center of China, said at the press conference on the same day that the weather in the Spring Festival this year is generally less rainy and snowy in the northern region, mainly sunny to cloudy, while the weather in the southern region is more complicated, with more rainy and snowy weather. In the south, the humidity is high, the temperature is low, and it is cold. It is recommended that the public pay attention to preventing cold and keep warm, and add appropriate clothing.
