The Health Day, which was carried out in Berriozábal by the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Chiapas, through the IMSS-BIENESTAR Program, concluded with 1,674 visits to residents of said municipality and surrounding towns.
Doña Floridelma Pérez, a resident of Berriozábal, was one of the beneficiaries of this Health Day; She underwent studies for the early detection of diabetes, Papanicolaou and colposcopy in one of the two Mobile Medical Units that were installed in the Central Park.
“I come today to have a Pap smear and a Colposcopy, since they are very expensive in a particular way, that is why we have to take advantage of this favorable benefit for us; We are going to take advantage of all the services provided by the IMSS, which cares regarding the health of all the citizens of this community,” said Mrs. Floridelma.

The medical supervisor of the Ocozocoautla area of the IMSS-BIENESTAR in Chiapas, Dr. Yazmín Margot Martínez Figueroa, reported that this day benefited the population of Berriozábal who for various reasons cannot go to the clinic.
Martínez Figueroa expressed that the services present at the conference are: general and dental consultations; colposcopy and Pap test; vaccination of the universal picture and influenza; attention and consultations of Psychology, Nutrition, detection of tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis.
“These Health Days are for the general public, for anyone who wants to get checked, make an early detection, who is missing a vaccine to complete their vaccination chart, and more, they are welcome,” said Dr. Yazmín.
Two Mobile Units were installed, in addition to eight modules, which follow the priorities of the IMSS-BIENESTAR Program: comprehensive care for diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension; strengthening maternal health; decreased neonatal mortality; child care; attention to adolescence; vaccination; epidemiological surveillance, and reinforcement of the First and Second Level of Attention.
During the day, Mr. Juan José Jiménez González, who lives in Berriozábal, recognized the great work of the Institute’s doctors, and thanked the IMSS for holding these Health Days for the general public.
“Thanks to the support you are giving, today I made a space for myself to come to my medical attention; the service they are providing us is pleasant, the attention is very good”, indicated don Juan.
With these actions, IMSS-BIENESTAR in Chiapas brings health services closer together and promotes a culture of prevention and self-care, in addition to the early detection of chronic-degenerative pathologies, in order to reduce the complications derived from them, and start Timely treatments and corrections of conditions.
