During Holy Week, 1,102 people are captured throughout the country

The National Civil Police (PNC) has reported that, during Holy Week, specifically from April 2 to 8, a total of 1,102 captures throughout the national territory for various crimes, some committed previously.

According to the report, of the arrests made, 278 occurred in the Capital City, while 824 were carried out in the different departments from the country. Below is the number of some arrests:

  • 26 captures for extortion
  • 48 for illegal possession of a firearm
  • 22 alleged rapists arrested
  • 16 for sexual assault
  • 19 for violence once morest women
  • 11 arrested for fraud
  • 6 raiders

The PNC also seized 81 firearms of different calibers. In addition, he recovered 18 vehicles and 29 motorcycles that had been reported stolen.

Among the people that the PNC captured during Holy Week is that of Kenneth Amed Morales Lucha37, accused of the femicide of the Guatemalan rapper Nesly Lizet Consuegra Monterroso.

The arrest of Morales Lucha occurred on Wednesday, April 5, in the Atlántida neighborhood, zone 18. The accused was remanded in pretrial detention for the crime of femicide.

According to the MP investigation, on the morning of December 3, 2022, Morales Lucha killed Nesly with a blunt blow. Later he hid his body in a blue barrel, which he got into the victim’s car and abandoned it in zone 3 of the capital before fleeing.
