In the meetings and gatherings, President Duque will present to investors and businessmen an overview of the Government’s achievements, and the roadmap that leaves the country in key sectors and investment opportunities, and will also review investments by international companies in Colombia.
Investment, renewable energy, infrastructure and promotion of tourism will also be the objectives of the visit that President Iván Duque Márquez will travel to New York this Wednesday, where he will meet with investors and directors of the French bank Credit Agricole, the financial group JP Morgan, the investment firms Macquairie and KKR, the chemical industry First Ammonia, the energy corporation AES and the line of Royal Caribbean cruises.
First, the President will have a working breakfast with the directors of the Credit Agricole and Investment Bank (CIB), headed by the President of this French group of cooperative banks, Marc-André Poirier.
The President will then go to the headquarters of the investment bank JP Morgan, where he will lead a meeting with the firm’s leaders on green investment and sustainable infrastructure.
He will also speak with executives from the Citi banking group, and will have a working session with executives from KKR, a leading global investment firm, which plans to invest 500 million dollars in Colombia in fiber optic networks, regarding possible investments in infrastructure .
Next, the Colombian Head of State receives executives from the Australian investment fund Macquarie, to analyze their investment plans in infrastructure and energy projects in Colombia.
Likewise, he meets with the directors of the company First Ammonia, which plans to invest nearly US$2,500 million to establish a green ammonia production plant on the Colombian North Coast.
President Duque will also speak at Citi’s headquarters regarding the Path to Zero, the route that Colombia is developing for carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
Duque will have a meeting with directors of the Royal Caribbean cruise group, in which the importance of renewable energies for the cruise line sector and the requirements for Colombian ports will be shared.
Finally, he will talk with directors of AES (the world’s leading US company in energy solutions) regarding its current investments in Colombia, which exceed USD$960 million, and regarding future plans.

At 8:00 (7:00 am Colombian time) the President will have a working breakfast with the directors of Credit Agricole and Investment (CIB), led by its President, Marc-André Poirier; the Director of the office for Colombia, Juan Carlos Álvarez, and the Director of Project Financing, Dorothee Peuze.
Then, at 10:00 (9:00 Colombian time), President Duque will be received at the headquarters of JP Morgan and will attend a meeting on green investment and sustainable infrastructure. The Vice President of Investment Banking, Moises Mainster, will welcome you.
The Director for Colombia, Ángela Hurtado; the Global Vice President for the Public Sector, Daniel Zelikow, and the General Director of Capital Markets, Lisandro Miguens.
At 11:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m. Colombian time), President Duque will speak with Citi executives.
Citi’s President for Colombia, Pablo del Valle, leads a discussion and presents ideas and actions on issues related to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors. The objective is to exchange thoughts on sustainability and define areas of common work and cooperation for the future between the public and private sectors.
Later, there will be a working lunch with Citi executives, with the assistance of Colombian businessmen and bankers.
At 2:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. Colombian time) the President of the Republic will have a working session at the same Citi headquarters with the President of KKR, retired General David Petraeus – who was Head of the Central Intelligence Agency (INC)-; the Managing Director, Neil Brown, and the head of the Clients and Partners Group for Latin America, Monica Mandelli.
Then, at 2:45 p.m. (1:45 p.m. Colombian time), the Colombian Head of State receives executives from the Australian investment fund Macquarie, to analyze their investment plans in infrastructure and energy projects in Colombia.
The President of Global Capital Markets, Michael Silverton, and the Managing Director, Héctor Morales, will participate.
At 3:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. Colombian time), Duque meets with the directors of the company First Ammonia, a leader in the production of green ammonia, led by its President, Joel Moser.
An hour later, the Head of State will make final remarks at the end of a conference at Citi headquarters on the Road to Zero, the route that Colombia is developing for carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
At 5:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. Colombian time), the President will have a meeting with directors of the Royal Caribbean cruise group, led by Andres Pousada, Vice President of Government Relations.
Royal Caribbean will share the importance of renewable energies for the cruise line sector and the requirements for the ports of Colombia.
And finally, at 5:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. Colombian time), President Iván Duque will speak with directors of AES, including its President, Ricardo Falú.
During the visit to New York, the President will be accompanied by the Trade Ministers, María Ximena Lombana; Environment, Carlos Eduardo Correa, and Transportation, Ángela María Orozco; the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, María Paula Correa, and the President of ProColombia, Flavia Santoro.
