In an interview with Semana magazine, Colombian President Iván Duque revealed what the country’s authorities know regarding the guerrilla leader’s state of health.
“Some sources assure that he died in a confused act in Venezuela. Others say that he is in a hospital in a very serious state of health, practically in a vegetative state.”

On July 9, the FARC dissidents, known as Segunda Marquetalia, published a video in which they claimed that Iván Márquez was the victim of a “criminal attack” that was “directed from the Army barracks and the Police commandos.” from Colombia.
