Dunkerquois, Region – The Regional Health Agency launches a major plan to fight cancer

New actions will be implemented to fight once morest cancer in the Region.

Right now, it’s Pink October, many events all over the Region to remind people of the importance of screenings. The opportunity also to recall a sad reality, the Hauts-de-France Region is the first in the country in terms of cancer mortality.

The Regional Health Agency has therefore just launched a roadmap with a large number of actions, 56 in total, to combat this phenomenon. Which is due to alcohol, tobacco, but also to eating habits, or even economic stress, unemployment.

The most important thing is to develop screenings, which are too few in the Region. In Dunkirk, almost one woman in two does not get screened for breast cancer.
