As the public slowly prepares its suitcases for the return trip to Arrakis scheduled for February 28, 2024, the official duration of Dune: Part Two has just been revealed. Good news: the film promises to be an imposing adventure… and the longest of Denis Villeneuve’s career. Just that.

A new record for Villeneuve

According to information from the Japanese film classification body, relayed on the social network, Dune: Part Two will therefore last 166 minutes, or 2 hours and 46 minutes.

In the central column, the document indicates 2h46.

A generous sequel, which is 11 minutes more generous than the first opus. The film also marks a new record for director Denis Villeneuve, as it becomes the longest feature film of his career.

The duration of Dune: Part Two thus exceeds those of its already massive Blade Runner 2049 (2h43), Prisoners (2h33) and therefore Dune (2h35).

A duration which seems to match the stakes of this second part, in which Paul Atréides will rally to Chani and the Fremen to wage a vengeful war once morest the Harkonnen. More stakes, action and spectacle, as the film’s trailer confirms.
