Following protocol, the monarchs wore elegant tuxedos, while their wives stood out in stunning long gowns and tiaras. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands: Tiara Stuart and a Jan Taminiau dress
The Queen of the Netherlands shows meticulous attention to every detail of her appearance. For this gala dinner, Máxima chose the renowned designer Jan Taminiau, who had already dressed her on her coronation day and in her last public appearances.
The beauty of the Argentine was dazzling, with a dress of romantic inspiration. Her design featured a fitted bodice in brocade fabric, a flattering V-neckline that highlighted her shoulders, and a beautiful tulle skirt that resembled an array of flowers and trailed into an elegant train.

As for jewelry, Máxima wore her favorite piece: the dazzling Stuart tiara. This precious masterpiece was decorated with impressive round diamonds and might be transformed according to her desire. This is the third time that the queen has used this jewel, following having been kept for almost half a century: she wore it in 2018, during a trip to Luxembourg, following more than 45 years in which the tiara had been kept, and in 2021, in State visit to Germany.

Complementing her look, she wore an imposing choker that had been created at the same time as the aforementioned crown. The Argentine completed her appearance with diamond bracelets and earrings made up of three huge diamonds.
Queen Mathilde: the Tiara of the Nine Provinces and an Armani piece
Matilde stands out as one of the most discreet royals today. Her style choices often go unnoticed, so her choice for this gala evening was pleasantly surprising. The consort wore a lace dress in a light blue tone. It was an Armani haute couture creation with a strapless neckline, a transparent cape and delicate beaded details in the neckline area.

Like Máxima, who dusted off the best jewels of the Dutch royal house, Matilde also wore outstanding pieces. In her case, she highlighted the tiara of the Nine Provinces. This piece is highly original, with a total of nine brilliant triangular ornaments representing the provinces of Belgium. Created by the Antwerp jewelers Van Bever in 1926 and given as a gift from the Belgian people to Princess Astrid of Sweden, fiancée of Belgian Crown Prince Leopold.

But that was not the only diadem that Matilde wore that night. As a choker, King Felipe’s wife wore the Wolfers piece, made up of two rows of brilliants culminating in five groups of larger diamonds. In addition, there was no shortage of earrings adorned with diamonds that provided the perfect finishing touch to her styling.
