Due to the devastating effects of the corona virus on educational activities in Saudi Arabia, the government is considering the financial support of private school owners considering their concerns.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Haqbani, Chairman of the Private Education Committee in the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, has said that due to the corona virus epidemic, more than one hundred thousand male and female students have left private schools during this year.
According to Saudi media, Al-Haqbani has said that these students have taken admission in public schools. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Haqbani said during a workshop organized by the Private Education Committee at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce that private schools are in trouble in the current situation.
On the one hand, more than one lakh students completed the admissions, on the other hand, thousands of students left the schools after completing their education and no new admissions were made in their place. On the other hand, the education fee has been reduced by seventy percent due to which the schools are unable to meet their obligations.
Al-Haqbani said that several suggestions have been given to private schools to get out of the crisis. One of the proposals is to give them loans up to 5 billion riyals and exempt them from financial fees.
He further said that the loans of private schools should be rescheduled. The first installment should be received six months after the end of the epidemic.
Al-Haqbani said that the committee has formed four working teams. Everyone is given separate tasks to tackle the challenges they face. The strategy of the committee was also discussed in a workshop organized by the Private Education Committee at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
