Due to irregularities in the exercise of her duties, the community president was dismissed – News

The Communal Council of the town of Gobernador Etchevehere (Paraná department) approved this Wednesday the dismissal of the president of the commune, Verónica Araujo, due to a series of irregularities in the performance of her duties, as they argued.

The members of the Communal Council expressed that the decision is due to numerous alleged irregularities detected during the exercise of their functions and the request for dismissal raised by residents of the town.

Franco Sandrigo, Martín Fasano, Roxana Pellegrini, Tania Barchi and Mariano Schmidt, members of the Council, approved Resolution No. 032/2022 on the dismissal of Araujo, which will be sent to the Electoral Tribunal so that in the next few days it can determine the new communal authority.

The reasons

Council sources detailed that it reached a point where the now former mayor lacked support, including from her own party (Cambiemos), and that she managed the commune “practically by decree.” To this they added that she did not execute the sanctioned ordinances, such as those for the scholarship program and support for entrepreneurs, and she did not put an ambulance purchased during her management into operation.

The trigger for the situation was a traffic accident that occurred on November 18 on route 131, when the ambulance was required, but it was not available. This made “the people get tired” and around 90 residents signed a petition to request the dismissal. In turn, the members made a presentation to the provincial government asking for its intervention in the irregularities indicated and the response was an opinion in which it was made clear that the communes are autonomous to remove the elected authorities. Finally, the dismissal of Araujo was voted by an absolute majority.

Fundamentals

Resolution No. 32 expresses in the recitals that the situation given in the commune is of “institutional gravity”, due to the behavior of the president. Below are all the ordinances approved that were not complied with by Araujo, including the creation of the Health Council, the Productive and Entrepreneurial Development Fund and the Cultural and Educational Development Fund. To this they added a series of observations for the management of economic resources without the approval of the Communal Council.

On the other hand, in the resolution, the councilors reproached the president for not submitting renditions to the Provincial Court of Accounts, for not putting the aforementioned ambulance into operation, as well as the situation given by the accident on November 18. , among other causes.
