Actress Jeong Jae-eun confessed that she was lonely by playing the fictional character Seol-hee in the musical ‘Hero’.
Actors Jung Sung-hwa and Jung Jae-eun of the musical “Hero,” which opened on December 21 last year, appeared as guests on MBC FM4U’s “Date at 2:00 Date Musician Youngmi Ahn” (hereinfollowing referred to as “Dude”), which aired on the 16th.
Jung Jae-eun took on the role of Seol-hee in the musical ‘Hero’. He said, “Seol-hee is the last court lady of Empress Myeongseong and an independence activist.
Because he is a fictitious character, he entered the final year of Dr. Ahn Jung-geun’s fit-in. There were parts that didn’t make sense due to the flow of time, so I had to bear it alone.”
“Since Seol-hee is an imaginary character, I had to stay away from existing historical figures as much as possible. Because you can’t touch history. So, if you watch the musical ‘Hero’, Seol-hee is always alone.”
Jeong Seong-hwa also said, “Even on stage, Ahn Jung-geun meets Seol-hee only once. In the movie, he doesn’t even meet Seol-hee at all.”
When Jung Jae-eun said, “Seol-hee also practices separately,” Jung Jae-eun said, “That’s why I’m so lonely.
Even when I go to the practice room, no one is there. Seol-hee is a role that directly encounters Ito Hirobumi, so the day Ito Hirobumi attends her practice room is the day Seol-hee attends.”
Meanwhile, the musical ‘Hero’ depicts the story of the last year of doctor Ahn Jung-geun, who punished Ito Hirobumi, the main culprit of the Joseon invasion. It can be seen at LG Art Center Seoul LG Signature Hall until February 28th.
