2023-12-25 15:48:51

Ducelia Echevarría and her sweet daughter Claire arrived at the Trome newsroom to participate in our production for Christmas. Pozuzo’s beautiful daughter dressed as ‘Mama Noela’ like her little girl, and remembered how she lived these holidays as a child with her family in her homeland and assured that there were no expensive gifts, but they were full of love and deeds by his mother’s hands.

Ducelia, how were your Christmases as a child? Did you miss anything?

First, I want to thank you for everything you have prepared for us and my Christmas, because I thank my parents, because with the little we had, there in the province, we were always happy every Christmas. I remember that my little tree was not very big, it was small, we did not have the decorations that there are now, the balls, the stars, my mom made them, because she sews, and with fabric she made the balls, the little gifts… My gifts were the dresses that my mother sewed and the little shoes she knitted, things I might make because there was nowhere to shop there. My parents, in the midst of their possibilities, gave us little things, none of my Christmases were sad, except when my grandfather died.

Did that mark you a lot?

Yes, it was very sad for me, because every time I came to Pozuzo it was to see him, he always filled me with joy, but before leaving he told me: When I’m gone your daughter will be there… That Christmas he missed me, but Claire was with me.

Is Claire the only granddaughter?

Yes, she is my 400 percent, the whole family makes her very proud. My parents want me to leave her in Pozuzo all summer, my parents are crazy regarding her.

How are you going to spend Christmas?

Today I will do social work in Oxapampa and if I have time, I want to do another in Pozuzo, because there are high places where people live who do not have many means to spend Christmas with a panettone or chocolate and I want to send something to those people So that they are happy on this date, I don’t know if I can reach La Merced and Chanchamayo, but we will see what happens, but first I will go through Pozuzo and Oxapampa, which is my land, to bring a little joy.

What is your favorite Christmas carol?

The sabanero burrito (hums)… I really like it and so does my daughter.

You explain to Claire what Christmas means beyond the gifts…

Yes, of course and I always make him see that he has a house, food and health when there are many children who have nothing, who are on the street, something we often see and it makes me very sad.

Has your mother also given dresses to your daughter?

Ufff, and I told her that those were my only gifts as a child so that she might appreciate the love with which her grandparents gave her these presents.

And are you going to spend the New Year in Lima?

I still don’t know because my brother is still in France and suddenly I go there to bring him by the ears because he doesn’t want to return, maybe I’ll go to Máncora with my daughter and also to free up a little.

Of course, this year has been very eventful for you.

Yes, quite a bit, that’s why I want my space with her.

Are you going to continue at Panamericana Televisión or are you going to Willax?

I don’t know yet, I don’t want to advance anything, whatever comes from God I will accept.

You had a good opportunity and you are closing the year as host on ‘Préndete’.

Yes, I close the year different, feeling good. ‘Préndete’ is a program that gave me light, that helped me get up and I am grateful to them. In fact, I would like to have the entire next year with them or in the opportunities that arise, happy and grateful.

(Addresses her daughter) Claire, do you want something?

Merry Christmas to everyone and have a great time with your family.
