The Ducab Group announced that it will supply the Gulf of Suez 2 project in Egypt with integrated energy solutions, in partnership with the Vestas Group, the global company in the field of wind energy solutions, in order to enhance the Emirati-Egyptian partnership in the industrial sector.
Ducab, in turn, is supplying the project, which is one of the largest wind power plants developed by the private sector in Egypt, with 633 km of low and medium voltage cables for 77 wind turbine engines over an area of 70 km, to contribute to the production of 250 megawatts of renewable energy in the country.
The “Gulf of Suez 2” project is one of the projects affiliated with the New and Renewable Energy Authority in Egypt. It is a wind farm for power generation, with a cost of regarding $560 million and plays a major role in achieving Egypt’s goals of generating 42% of the total electricity from renewable energy by 2035.
Mohamed Al-Mutawa, CEO of Ducab, affirmed the group’s commitment to supporting countries in achieving their ambitions in the field of sustainability and increasing reliance on clean energy, and providing them with integrated solutions, especially in solar and wind energy projects, as the group is proud to be an active contributor to Egypt’s efforts. To achieve its strategic plans and endeavors towards the transition to clean and renewable energy and achieve sustainability.
Al-Mutawa added, “The Ducab Group” exports 60% of its products to more than 55 markets, and we are proud of the growing demand for our products supported by expertise and high-quality integrated solutions in the field of sustainability, which bear the slogan “Made in the UAE.”
The Gulf of Suez 2 project is added to the list of renewable energy projects in the Middle East for which Ducab has provided integrated solutions such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex, the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and the two Shams 1 projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition to specialized projects in the same field in 55 countries around the world, as it announced last April its first partnership in the field of solar energy in Mexico.
