Dubai Roads completes 55% of the development of Al Saqr Intersection

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced the completion of 55% of the development project of Al Saqr Intersection, located between Al Khaleej Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Streets and Al Ghubaiba Streets, and it will be linked with the Shindagha Infinity Bridge from the northern side.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the authority, said: “The project comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to develop the Shindagha axis to keep pace with the continuous development witnessed by the region. Along the axis, accommodating the needs of urban and population growth. He added: “The Falcon Intersection development project is part of the Al Shindagha Corridor development project, which extends along Sheikh Rashid Street, Al Mina Street, Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street, with a length of 13 km. Raising the capacity of Al Khaleej Street and Al Mina Street, raising the efficiency of the road and the level of traffic safety, in addition to providing entrances and exits to Port Rashid, and providing more parking spaces under the new bridge to serve the area.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer explained that the project executing company has completed the works of implementing the northern main bridge at Al Saqr Intersection and linking with the new Infinity Bridge and Al Shindagha Tunnel on the Deira side, in addition to linking with the improved intersections on Sheikh Rashid Street, and completing 25% of the tunnel implementation works from Khalid Street. Bin Al Waleed to Al Mina Street, and works are underway to implement the southern main bridge, in addition to deep services works and a rainwater drainage station.
