Dubai ∙ Dubai Metro operates 1,200 daily services for visitors to the UN Climate Summit (COP 28). RTA Head of Public Transport, Ahmad Bahruzian, said the service is aimed at speeding visitors to and from the Summit City at the Dubai Expo Centre. During the summit days from November 30 to 12 alone, the Metro will complete 15,600 services.
The special train service for Kop 28 will start at 5 am and end at 1 am. The last train from Expo 2020 station to Centerpoint station will be at 12 pm. A train can carry 643 passengers.
Parking
Considering the rush of visitors, more vehicle parking has been allowed at some metro stations. Center Point has 2698 parking spaces. 2341 parking spaces at Etisalat station and 3038 parking spaces at Jabal Ali station.
Special cards
A special ‘Knoll Card’ was issued for the summit delegates to get free travel. This is to encourage the use of public transport until the summit is over.
Mobile app
With the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s ‘Suhail’ mobile app, you can reach the conference city easily and quickly. Apart from metro, visitors can also travel by electric buses. Eco-friendly taxis are also available.
Green zone
The future plans of the RTA can be seen closely in the ‘Green Zone’ set up at Expo City. Meet driverless vehicles, future stations for air taxis, innovative vehicles, etc.
