Dubai Media Council formed; Sheikh Ahmed President

Dubai | Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has appointed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as President of the Dubai Media Council. This is in accordance with Law No. 5 of 2022, which will establish the Dubai Media Council. It aims to expand Dubai’s media landscape and transform it into a local and global media hub. The council has also been formed to streamline operations. Muna Al Mari will serve as the Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Board of Dubai Media Council. The other members of the board are Hala Yusuf Badri, Malik Sultan Al Malik, Abdullah Humaid Belhoul, Younus Al Nasser, Amal Ahmed bin Shabib, Issam Qasim and Muhammad Sulaiman Al Mulla. Renewable is for a period of three years.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has appointed Nihal Badri as Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council. Sheikh Ahmed said the Dubai Media Council was interested in working with various media outlets in the region to promote the media in creating high quality content as part of its plan to grow Dubai as a media hub. Sheikh Ahmed said that Sheikh Mohammed has always strived to make the media an important partner in the development journey of the country and to reflect the achievements and aspirations in various fields.
