Dubai, October 10 / WAM / Dubai Healthcare City launched the “Dubai Healthcare City Dialogues for Mental Health Awareness” programme, which aims to raise awareness of the need to promote mental health in conjunction with the celebration of World Mental Health Day.
The program provides a platform that allows the Dubai Healthcare City community and community members to hold meetings, discuss mental health topics, and exchange knowledge and experiences.
This new program comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Mental Health Program that was launched in 2018 by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority, the entity supervising the growth and development of business in Dubai Healthcare City, to support the government’s goals in raising the level of mental health among youth and adults in the country.
The new initiative aims to enable different societal groups in Dubai to improve their mental health.
The program was launched in cooperation with the American Wellness Center – a mental health specialist in Dubai Healthcare City – and extends for six months and includes meetings centered on community service hosted by Society in Dubai Healthcare City.
Kawthar Kazim, Vice President of the Business Support Department at the Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said: “The Dubai Healthcare City system includes a network of more than 20 mental health care facilities and specialized experts in this field from around the world who have the necessary skills to keep pace with the needs of the healthcare sector in Dubai, and we are committed to enabling all segments of society to obtain mental health services to raise awareness of mental health and the strong support system that we provide in line with the government’s goals.”
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Taher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Wellness Center, said: “The participation of residents in sessions centered around community service represents an important step to eliminate social challenges associated with mental health and raise awareness about the treatments available in Dubai. We are proud to participate in this noble endeavor that helps Everyone should make sound decisions that enhance their health and well-being.”
