“Dubai Airport Drug Bust: Expatriate Caught with 7.06 kg of Cannabis”

Dubai: An expatriate youth has been arrested following landing at the Dubai airport with cannabis expertly hidden inside his bag. He brought 7.06 kg of ganja. He brought it in a packet of a leading food product brand. Although the authorities caught the expatriate who arrived with cannabis, the authorities have not released the information of which country he belongs to.

He landed at Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport with ganja. After that, the customs inspector, who was suspicious of his behavior, noticed him and then checked the luggage in detail. When the authorities checked the bag, they found an abnormally dark area in the bag and suspected that he was smuggling some contraband.

After this, when the customs officials opened the bag and checked it, they seized the ganja. He has been handed over to the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics Department of Dubai Police for further action. Ibrahim Kamali, Director, Passenger Operations Department, Dubai Customs, stated that the airport’s state-of-the-art inspection systems and sophisticated equipment are sufficient to detect all types of contraband.

38 expatriates arrested for violating visa law in Kuwait

Inspections carried out by the authorities to find law-breaking expatriates continue in Kuwait. As part of this, 38 expatriates were arrested by the General Administration of Residence Affairs officials last day. The authorities arrested 38 expatriates of different nationalities during the checks conducted in Salhia, Al Wathia and Shuwaikh areas.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it was announced that these arrested persons had violated the labor laws and worked in the country and were in violation of the residence laws. They have been handed over to the concerned departments for taking further legal action. Expatriates who are caught for violating the law are transferred to deportation centers and following completing the process from there, they are deported. After this they cannot enter Kuwait even on other visas. In this way, the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed through official statements that hundreds of expatriates have been arrested and deported in the past months.
