The Cannes Film Festival began its 76th edition on May 16 and will run until the 27th. In this context in which hundreds of figures from the film and music industry pass through the red carpet, it was Dua Lipa he whitewashed his relationship with the french director Romain Gavrasson of the renowned filmmaker Costa-Gavras.
The last official couple of the 27-year-old British singer had been the model Anwar Hadid, brother of the top models Bella and Gigi Hadid. She had previously had a relationship with the English chef Isaac Carew and, prior to introducing the filmmaker to society, she was seen in nightclubs with the Spanish actor Aaron Piper.

The author of “Love Again” paraded hand in hand with Gavras, 41, and wore an amazing black dress to participate in the screening of The King of Algeria. To reconfirm that the relationship is serious, Lipa posted on her Instagram account some postcards from Friday night with her boyfriend. “Last night in Cannes with my love”, he wrote next to the images.

“Dua Lipa introduces her boyfriend in society. All comments: ‘Uh, how ugly it is‘”, wrote the user @juanitosay in reference to the negative messages for Gavras. Some compared him to the character of Sacha Baron Cohen in the film The Dictator, others criticized him for his nose and several others indicated that “looks like his father”.
However, many other tweeters defended him. “those with good tastes liked Dua Lipa’s new boyfriend”, “Dua Lipa’s boyfriend has a big nose and a scar on his face. I don’t want to say that he’s my type, but because it is the one of all”, “I have to leave those fantasies with Dua Lipa’s boyfriend. Well, one and that’s it…”, were some of the comments in favor of Romain Gavras.
