Dua Lipa is ready to bring her dance anthems to stages all over the world. On October 5, the English star will resume her current tour to support her latest album “Radical Optimism” in Austin, USA, before traveling through Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and South Korea. While she gave two concerts at the Nîmes Arena last June, the singer has not, for the moment, planned any other stops in France and Europe in 2025, with the exception of two dates at Wembley Stadium in London next summer. Will announcements to this effect be made at the start of the school year, to extend the warm reception given to her album, which has already been certified gold in France and sold 63,000 copies in three months? Fingers crossed! In the meantime, Dua Lipa can rub her hands because one of her pop hits is also entering the billionaires’ club on Spotify, the number one streaming platform in the world.

Only number 10s in his team
The public surely remembers, in February 2020, Dua Lipa came to warm up a gloomy winter with an ultra dynamic pop track: “Physical”. Second very 80’s extract from the hit machine “Future Nostalgia”, the title co-produced by KOZ (“IDGAF”, “Levitating” …) had aroused great enthusiasm throughout the world, ranking 3rd in radio airplay in France. It has since been certified diamond single while the album now exceeds 455,000 sales! A popularity that is now measured with a colossal figure: the song has just reached one billion streams on Spotify. It is the 10th song by the pop star, used to going crazy, to cross this fateful milestone. Dua Lipa is even the only female artist in the world to have five tracks that have been listened to 2 billion times. In order, his most popular songs are “New Rules” (2017), “One Kiss” with Calvin Harris (2018), “Don’t Start Now” (2020), “Levitating” with DaBaby (2020) and “Cold Heart” in duet with Elton John (2021).
While Billie Eilish is now the most listened to artist in the world on Spotify ahead of The Weeknd and Taylor SwiftDua Lipa is in 14th position with 73.7 million monthly listeners. To hope to dethrone the two all-category champions, the pop star will have to work twice as hard. For now, Drake and The Weeknd share the top spot with 17 songs each above a billion listens in Spotify’s history.
