With the indie box, the entire XboxSquad editorial team offers you mini reviews of very little known or highlighted indie games. While some don’t deserve to step out of the shadows of the Xbox marketplace, others may be worth a look. This is the whole subject of this section.
A point & click puzzle game murders committed by Jack the Ripper, it cannot be refused! These dramas still fascinate even years later. Dance of Death : Du Lac & Fey offers a variation shrouded in the supernatural and magic with a duo of shock inspectors. They bicker, throw spades and are endearing as possible, between the whimsical Du Lac and the cynical Fey. The dialogues are awesome. On the other hand, technically, the game takes the hit and drives you crazy pachydermic slowness of the protagonists.
It takes a thousand years to go through screens. THE least back and forth annoys and ruins this promising experience. Similarly, when you have to click on objects, there is a sort of latency which means that you don’t know if the command has been taken into account and you start clicking randomly. It’s quite painful. Too bad because the investigation, which I pushed until chapter 4 out of the 7 that account the game kept me in suspense. And something more than rare, the title not afraid to tackle difficult topics like extreme poverty, prostitution, drugs, without falling into pathos or showing more than necessary. No gore either, violence is suggested more than shown. More the brakes raised higher got the better of me. Finally, note that Dance of Death : Du Lac & Fey East available in good quality VOSTFRwhether the dialogues in English or the translation in French.
I loved :
- The duo of spicy and refreshing heroes
- No theme avoided (prostitution, drugs, misery)
- The Jack the Ripper Murders Revisited
- Interface and subtitles in French
I am sorry :
- The disheartening extreme slowness of the characters
- Interactions with objects and documents are painful
