Since the beginning of 2024, the company “DTEK Energo” has put into operation eight new benches, two of which – in March.
As reported in its press release on Monday, the commissioning of the new benches will make it possible to meet the fuel needs of thermal power plants during summer peaks and accumulate reserves for the next heating season.
“Despite the enemy’s attacks on the energy industry, our task remains the same: to do everything for the stable operation of the energy system. We understand that already in the summer, and then in the next heating season, the work of our TPPs will be in great demand. The production of fuel for the needs of heat generation requires rhythm and consistency in in all processes,” said Ildar Saleev, CEO of DTEK Energo, whose words are quoted in the document.
In 2024, 26 new coal beds are planned to be put into operation at the mines of “DTEK Energo”.
In 2023, the company’s investments in Ukrainian coal production amounted to regarding UAH 7 billion, which is almost twice as much as in 2022.
“DTEK Energo” provides a closed cycle of electricity production from coal. The installed capacity in thermal electricity generation as of January 2022 was 13.3 GW. A full production cycle has been created in coal mining: mining and beneficiation of coal, machine building and service maintenance of mine equipment.
Currently, more than 50% of the thermal generation of the energy holding “DTEK” has been destroyed by Russian attacks.
