Although carbon wheels are often the preference of many cyclists, they are not always within everyone’s reach and above all, depending on the use, a pair of aluminum wheels may be more suitable.

This is why DT Swiss continues to develop its range of aluminum wheels with even more comfort and durability thanks to wider rims, new spokes and revised hubs.

No matter where the wheel takes you, whether it’s for a ride of a few hours or a journey of several days, you will undoubtedly find the aluminum wheelset for you in the range.

Wider rims

The Endurance and Performance lines feature wider rims than their predecessors for more comfort when paired with wide tires.

The ER 1600 SPLUNE and E 1800 SPLINE adopt the Endurance R 500 rim with 22 mm internal width. The ideal tire width is between 28 and 34 mm.

The PR 1600 SPLINE and P 1800 SPLINE benefit from the Performance R 470 rim, 20 mm wide and 23 mm high.

New rays

Riding fast is a little easier thanks to the aerodynamic shape of the DT new aero II Straightpull spokes. Their shape is more elliptical, giving them an aerodynamic advantage over the previous model. But all this is useless if it is not combined with the right tension…

Indeed, spoke tension is an essential factor in ensuring the quality and durability of a wheel. Done well, it gives the rider precise steering and good acceleration capability. It can be guaranteed by the artisanal construction of all our wheels.

Improved hubs

The Ratchet is now integrated into the 1800 SPLINE line, the new 350 hub is present in the 1600 SPLINE line and the Ratchet EXP has been implemented in the new 1400 DICUT line.

The DICUT hub present on the 1400 DICUT is the high-end hub technology of the Swiss brand. It offers aerodynamic performance thanks to its shape and its patented two-in-one spoke hole system.

Meanwhile, the Ratchet EXP system not only increases reliability but also reduces weight by merging the ratchet and threaded ring into a single component.

The adoption of the new 350 hubs on the 1600 SPLINE range notably brings a 36-tooth engagement system compared to 18 on the previous generation.

Finally, the 1800 SPLINE benefits from 370 hubs with the Ratchet LN freewheel system. In addition to the legendary DT Swiss rear hub sound, the Ratchet also offers the popular reliability of the freewheel system.

Compared to ratchet freewheel systems, the Ratchet offers a larger contact surface when engaged, ensuring excellent reliability. Forces can be evenly distributed over a larger area and lower peak loads are achieved. The result is greater durability, allowing riders to focus on enjoying their ride.

Tubeless Ready

All aluminum rims are tubeless ready, further enhancing the benefits of wider rims. You can fit your tires with the new DT Swiss preventives.
