DSCC: iPhone 14 Plus would be selling more than the 13 mini

Find out how sales are going iPhones is not an easy task, since the Apple does not disclose the exact numbers. However, orders for components made by Apple — especially the front panels of the devices — certainly help to draw estimates on how their popularity is going.

One of the companies specialized in this type of work is Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC)which released a new report with an estimate referring to orders for shipments of panels to the line iPhone 14as well as a comparison with the number of orders for the line iPhone 13 in the same period.

The data, which corresponds to the period of one year and provides an estimate for orders up to the month of April, indicate that the current line of smartphones from Apple has grown only slightly in sales compared to its predecessor.

The big highlight goes to sales of the iPhone 14 Plus. According to the report, orders for the larger entry-level iPhone were 59% more than those for the iPhone 13 mini, which is considered its predecessor.

This indicates that, although the device still represents only 11% of sales of the entire line, the exchange of a smaller entry model for a larger one was a success on the part of Apple – considering the company’s strategy of launching four devices of the same line.

In all, the iPhone 14 line shows a 2% growth compared to the iPhone 13 line, which is mainly driven by sales of the iPhones 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max — which represent 28% and 36% of the total number of shipments, respectively. .

Panel sales for the iPhones 13 and 14

Despite a 36% reduction compared to the previous model — which can even be explained by the rise of the iPhone 14 Plus — the iPhone 14 also continues to have a considerable share, accounting for 25% of line sales.

Interesting data, isn’t it?
