According to the legal community on the 13th, the prosecution and Mr. Kim did not submit an appeal to the first trial court until the day before the appeal deadline, so the ruling was confirmed as it was.

Previously, on the 5th, Judge Lee Hwan-ki of the 4th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Mr. Kim, who was handed over to trial on charges such as violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving), to a fine of 20 million won, the same as the prosecution’s sentence.
Judge Lee recognized the prosecution as guilty by integrating evidence such as Kim’s confession and black box closed circuit (CC) TV footage.
Regarding the reason for the sentencing, he explained, “The fact that the blood alcohol level was high at the time and the driving distance was not short is a disadvantageous normal.”
Mr. Kim was put on trial for driving under the influence of alcohol at Hakdong Intersection in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 8:00 am on May 18 last year, crashing into a street tree and a transformer, and fleeing without taking any action.
As the transformer broke down due to Mr. Kim’s accident, the area around Sinsa-dong and Apgujeong-dong suffered power outages for regarding 4 hours and 30 minutes, causing inconvenience to merchants and residents. At the time of the accident, Mr. Kim’s blood alcohol level was 0.227%, far exceeding the license revocation level (0.08%).
Kim, who debuted as a child actor, broke up with his agency and stopped activities following drunk driving.
