A heavily drunk 36-year-old from the Gmunden district was driving his car on the B145 in Bad Ischl shortly after 1 p.m. on Holy Saturday. Police officers from the Bad Goisern and Bad Ischl Police Stations, who had been informed by witnesses beforehand, were finally able to stop the alcohol driver at a gas station.
He threatened and insulted the officers and hit one of the police officers in the upper body. The 36-year-old was finally arrested in handcuffs. This was followed by a charge of resistance against state authority and various traffic offenses.
According to testimonies, the driver drove particularly recklessly, so a collision with oncoming traffic could just about be avoided. The man had to give up his driver’s license.
