Drunk defended himself in Vorarlberg against arrest

A probably drunk driver fled on foot from the police in Alberschwende (Bregenzerwald) on Monday evening. When the 57-year-old was stopped a little later, he threatened to kill the police officers. During the subsequent arrest, he resisted massively, kicked his legs and hit a police officer in the face. She was slightly injured, the 57-year-old was unharmed, the executive informed.

As part of a check, the man was given a preliminary alcohol test, which was positive. A test on the calibrated machine should bring certainty, but the 57-year-old fled. He ran away down a steep grassy slope. After his interrogation at the police station, he was released once more. The driver’s license was taken from the 57-year-old.
