Drug gang member in custody following 17-year-old’s death; internal organs sent for forensic examination

A 17-year-old man named Irfan from Perumatura died under mysterious circumstances after being given too much intoxicant. His friend, Faisal, a resident of Kottaramthuruth, has been taken into custody by the Kurumankulam police in connection with Irfan’s death. Faisal was the one who called Irfan from his house, and the police suspect he was involved in giving Irfan too much intoxicant. Irfan’s family had been warned about his association with a group of people who use intoxicants.

Irfan’s mother complained that her son’s friends injected him with an overdose of drugs, but the post-mortem showed that Irfan died due to excessive bleeding in the brain. This was likely caused by excessive drug use. More information will only be available after the forensic examination report of Irfan’s internal organs.

Irfan’s friends had called him from home around 6 pm on Monday, and he returned home at seven o’clock in the evening feeling tired and passed out. He had told his mother that his friends had smelled drugs. When he became unconscious, his family took him to a private hospital in Pudukurichi, where he told the doctor he had taken drugs. After returning home, Irfan’s condition worsened by two o’clock, and his relatives took him to the Medical College Hospital. Sadly, he died the next morning due to a suspected drug overdose. His body was buried at Perumatura Juma Masjid yesterday evening.

The police said that he was the one who called Irfan from his house and took him away. The relative told the media that the family had been warned about the use of intoxicants and that the seventeen-year-old had been seen with a gang of intoxicants at many places.

Irfan died yesterday morning. The mother had complained that her son died after his friends injected him with an overdose of drugs. Meanwhile, the post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was excessive bleeding in the brain. It is concluded that this may be due to excessive drug use. Only after receiving the forensic examination report of Irfan’s internal organs will there be more clarity in this regard.
